Hm.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0442933/

As usual, the forum comments are absurd.

I doubt the movie will address such things but the most interesting aspect of the poem is the abiguity of its religious tones. It can be read as pagan, it can be read as Christian, it can be read as critical of Christianity, and it can be read as an ultimate rejection of pre-Christian values. Hopefully the Dragon is involved though instead of just Grendel and his mom.

I don't think anything could possibly be better than the 1999 Christopher Lambert version

Thats one of the movies I'm waiting for someone to make so I can give them a handjob.

Like that butthole Tommy Lee Jones who has the film rights to Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian and has been kicking it around with Ridley Scott and other people for like a decade. Just do it, butthole.

That's actually a really smart reading, a lot of people get bogged down in the theories of the dragon and whatnot and think it's a nihilistic book.
